About Us
AGPOM was established in June of 2009 in Bellevue, Washington and launched nationally later that year in September. The association’s launch was fueled by:
- A shared desire among our directors to protect the natural environment by promoting the benefits of Going Green to property owners, managers and tenants.
- Recognition of an undeniable overlap between Going Green and effective management of business risk.
Despite the depletion of non-renewable resources, there is a critical need to maintain a functioning society—and yet, the percentage of real estate businesses actively working towards that end remains far too low. AGPOM aims to increase that percentage.
Areas of Focus
It is well documented that the man-made environment has a substantial impact on the natural environment and long-term human health. As such, the Green movement continues to gain strength. AGPOM provides support with three areas of focus:
Research
Collection and aggregation of information, trends and ongoing initiatives surrounding the sustainability movement.
Education and Awareness
Building awareness and appreciation of Green benefits through dissemination of information and proprietary tools.
Business Integration
Providing innovative management solutions for integrating sustainability into businesses strategic planning. Examples include:
